IndieWorks: Insider Series w/ Rafael De Leon

Part of our effort for IndieWorks is to help indie filmmakers outside of our monthly screenings. Each month we're bringing our winning filmmakers to chat with IndieWorks host Lauren A. Kennedy for a bi-weekly series titled "IndieWorks: Insider Series". 

Rafael won our Audience Choice Award on October 30th during our Halloween-themed IndieWorks series, for his film "Birthday Boys." Lauren sat down with him to learn a bit about the film and some of his other recent projects.

IndieWorks: Insider Series w/ Ashley Denise & Ricki Lynee of 'Anthology'

Part of our effort for IndieWorks is to help indie filmmakers outside of our monthly screenings. Each month we're bringing our winning filmmakers to chat with IndieWorks host Lauren A. Kennedy for a bi-weekly series titled "IndieWorks: Insider Series". We hosted a webseries themed IndieWorks back in September, featuring a series titled "Anthology." We sat down with Anthology's director, Ashley Denise, and actor, Ricki Lynee, to hear about the project, a unique approach to direction for the series, and some of their upcoming work.

IndieWorks: January Recap

This Wednesday, we held our first IndieWorks for 2014. The lineup was fantastic and we had a great time with everyone who joined us for the night (especially with the extreme cold weather NYC was pushing through that day).

The awards go to...

At the end of the evening, we announced our winning filmmakers for both Audience Choice Award & Silver Whiskers Award. The Audience Choice Award is voted upon by all those in attendance, and the Silver Whiskers is judged by the CongestedCat Team based on a system rating 8 categories of Story, Dialogue/Writing, Direction, Acting, Cinematography, Sound, Editing, and Production Value. It goes on to screen at our end of the year Best of Fest event.

For the January 2014 lineup, our winning filmmakers were:
    Audience Choice Award:  "Harry Grows Up" Directed by Mark Nickelsburg.
    Silver Whiskers Award:  "La Solitaria" Written & Directed by Nelson Isava.

Part of our effort for IndieWorks is to help indie filmmakers outside of our monthly screenings. Each month we're bringing our winning filmmakers to chat with IndieWorks host Lauren A. Kennedy for a bi-weekly series titled "IndieWorks: Insider Series". Back in October, our Audience Choice award was won by Hannah LeShaw, for her short film "Fictional Me, Fictional You." We invited her to speak with us about her piece and her upcoming projects, including a new short on the horizon, titled "Bliss."

Part of our effort for IndieWorks is to help indie filmmakers outside of our monthly screenings. Each month we're bringing our winning filmmakers to chat with IndieWorks host Lauren A. Kennedy for a bi-monthly series titled "IndieWorks: Insider Series". Back in September, our Audience Choice award was given to Steven Cartoccio's webseries submission, "Concrete Jungle". The submission, episode one of the upcoming series, is bound to become an instant hit with fans (especially the Adult Swim fans).
