SUMMIT on Amazon Prime (Kickstarter Update)

As I'm now in post-production for my second feature, I've decided to experiment further with the self-distribution distribution options out there to make more informed decisions for the next time around. 

So, in addition to the original Vimeo on Demand and VHX availability, Summit is now on Amazon Prime. And it will also be streaming on Seed&Spark in July. (Seed&Spark is a streaming platform aiming to create sustainability and increase inclusion in independent cinema. Summit will specifically be part of their feminist horror channel when it premieres, but anyone who subscribes will have access to all of their hundreds of movies and series by other inclusive independent filmmakers.) 

This is as wide as we will go with the film. As I said, it's an experiment more than anything, so we're not really promoting it. But I thought I'd let you know. The film has been available as of Saturday night and has already been watched 7 full times through (with 2 others who just skimmed it, from what I can tell). We already have 2 reviews from strangers with completely opposite opinions. Having learned and grown so much in the last 5 years, it's really interesting and kind of fun reading reviews, even the nasty ones. 

Anyway, thanks again for being part of this journey. Many of you have joined us in making our future work, as well. Thank you for that! We have much more news to come!

Donation to The Trevor Project (Seed&Spark update)

Hi everyone, 

We've started post-production and will have updates on our progress soon. But just sending a quick update to let you know that we made our promised donation to The Trevor Project today.

You can see below the final cash received from this campaign.

We lost about 5% of cash raised to platform and credit card transaction fees, and a few people whose cards were declined never got corrected; but thankfully we had some loans of equipment from friends and a lot of donated food from family. So, we were not only able to make our film on the intended budget, but also follow through with donating to this important organization that saves lives. Thanks to you, this film will have a positive impact in many ways.

IndieWorks: Best of Fest Year 4 Recap

INDIEWORKS: BEST OF FEST

Last Tuesday was a special night at IndieWorks! We celebrated the conclusion of our 4th year! Between the 10 fantastic films, the talented filmmakers and the wonderful audience, we had a lot of fun and made some new connections! We hope everyone that was part of it enjoyed the night as much as we did! In total, we had just over 80 people in attendance and it truly seemed like the crowd enjoyed the lineup and the evening as a whole.

To all of the incredible people involved in this community who submit their work, attend our monthly series, follow our content and spread the word of anything IndieWorks... we truly thank you. It's been another great year of innovative, local films and filmmakers.

Four years ago, Christina decided she wanted to create a monthly film series for local independent filmmakers to showcase and discuss their work with an audience and connect with their (our) peers in a friendly, supportive, engaging and still encouragingly competitive environment. Sure enough, we made it happen and it has grown into something so wonderful, more so than we could have imagined over the past four years. It's been a real passion project from our team, and we hope it has stayed true to the ideals of helping independent filmmakers find an audience and build a network & community of likeminded, productive & talented individuals. Thank you all for being part of it! We're honored to screen & support your work!

Wrap Party!

Yesterday, we celebrated the conclusion of production for About a Donkey and had a blast! Unfortunately, not all of the team members could make it. But this was just the first of many celebrations as a film family; we'll definitely have everyone all together at some point. And hopefully we'll celebrate at a screening near YOU in the future! For now, we're off to post-production!
